Hi! I'm Dileep Hareendran, a grad in Electronics & Communication Engg
from RIT, Kottayam...well, that's a place in Kerala, India. I'm a resident
as well of the same town...you see, I'm one of those lucky guys who never
had to leave the comforts of home behind in pursuit of education. My education
from Kindergarten to Engineering college were completed in institutions within
a 5 mile radius!
Physically I'm vertically as well as horizontally challenged. To
make it clearer, shall I say that I'm constantly in danger of being blown
away by a breeze. I'm extremely athletic..I can't take even a single push-up.
Also I've been planning to visit a gym for the past 5 years (mmm...I must
soon ask someone the way to the nearest gym). The last time I engaged in
any sporting activity was back in High School when I tried out for the Basketball
team..unfortunately, the coach was not too appreciative about my skills.
The next time I played it was in a match in our Engineering College and we
got drubbed 20 to 2 (or was it 30?) and needless to say the single basket
wasn't mine.
However I was very successful in another game..one that didn't ask
of me to stretch a muscle..chess! So much so that I was the college champ
in the place where I did my 11th and 12th (ok!...so
it was not such a big college). The only other type of gaming in my life
involves a computer or a game parlour.. I love car racing or rallying to
action. My greatest love has been the NFS series..and I've eked out a collection
from NFS2 to NFS5. The best game I've played, graphically as well as reality-wise
has been NFS5:Porsche 2000. MaxPayne may be better but I haven't played the
full version yet..c'mon this is India what more can you expect!
Computers form another interest of my life. My first computer was
an Intel Pentium 166 (@200) gifted by my uncle. After it mysteriously
gave up on me I got my present machine, an AMD Athlon Thunderbird (1.1 Gig),
which I assembled myself. (I'm currently in the anti-Intel anti-microsoft
bandwagon). To quench my gaming thirst I also bought the latest 3D card available
then, a GeForce256. Presently, I'm a very nervous explorer in the world of
Linux. I've set up a dual boot system with RedHat7.2 and Windows98.
